Torrey Pines State Reserve, Southern California

Ranked the number three attraction in the San Diego/Southern California area, Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is situated within San Diego's city limits and is one of the exhilarating landscapes along the California coast, with miles of unspoiled beaches, chaparral, elegant Torrey Pine trees and a lagoon vital to many species of migrating birds.

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve in Southern California is a wilderness island in an urban sea. This fragile environment is the home to the nation's rarest pine tree, the Pinus Torreyana; once this tree covered a larger area - now it grows only here and on Santa Rosa Island off the coast near Santa Barbara. The reserve features high broken cliffs and deep ravines on headlands overlooking the ocean, hikers can follow trails through stands of wind-sculpted pines.

Every year Torrey Pines is visited by travelers from around the world and by locals residents that frequently come view the stunning overlooks, walk a peaceful trail, or exercise in a pristine, beautiful environment. Come spend some time at beautiful Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, special care has been taken to preserve the park for generations to come.
